If Rainbows Could Talk

Do you ever wonder if Rainbows could talk?
Talk about snow, Talk about wind, Talk about a kid’s sidewalk chalk?

Red would say “Passion! I am love! I am war!”
Orange would say “I’m Fruit! Fresh shipped from coastal shores!”
Yellow says “Sun! I am the light, I am the bees!”
Green would say “I’m Luck! I’m grass, I am trees!”

Cyan says “I’m fresh, I’m the birds, I’m the sky!”
Indigo says “Water. I am friendship, I am Pride.”
Violet says “I’m darkness, I’m the night sky and the moon!”
Pink would say “I’m cute! I’m the animals, I’m You!”

Brown would say “I’m dirt. I’m dead leaves, I am mud!”
Gray would say “I’m the rainstorm. I’m nothing but a dud.”
White would say “Begin! Light is nothing without me!”
Black would say “It’s Finished. There is nothing left of me.”

The rainbows never talk about what humans think is fun,
So maybe it’s for the best that we don’t talk to one.
But sometimes I still wonder if rainbows ever talk,
Or if they smile, if they laugh, at some kid’s sidewalk chalk.
